The Forest Park Rangers were victorious against Loogootee 4-0 on Monday.
The Rangers were the first to get on the board in the second when an error scored one run. Joel Bueltel earned the win for Forest Park. He surrendered three hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out four and walking five. D Waggner took the loss for Loogootee. He went five and two-thirds innings, surrendering four runs (three earned) on four hits, striking out six and walking three. Korbyn Persohn tossed two innings of shutout ball for the Rangers in relief. Persohn gave up zero hits, striking out one and walking none. Trevor Berg, Jaxon Lueken, Grant Fleck, Jared Burger, Carter Fleck, and Reid Howard each collected one hit for Forest Park. Berg and Fleck each drove in one run. Jeffers, Lengacher, and Graber each collected one hit for Loogootee. Forest Park play at home on Tuesday against North Posey in their next game. |
The Forest Park Rangers took the lead, 4-1, in the bottom of the third thanks to home runs by Randle, Avery Riley, and Rheyse Fleck.
Southridge tied the game in the top of the fourth thanks to an error, and a single by Hannah Polley. Southridge flipped the game on its head in the top of the fifth, scoring nine runs on seven hits to take a 13-4 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Camryn Nalley that drove in three. Leigha Nord hit a solo home run to left field in the bottom of the fifth for the Rangers. Millie Hunter earned the win for Southridge. She gave up nine hits and five runs over seven innings, striking out seven and walking two. Riley took the loss for the Rangers. Riley went four and two-thirds innings, giving up 13 runs (five earned) on 13 hits, striking out three and walking one. Fleck, Mollie Combs, and Randle each collected two hits for Forest Park. Southridge collected 15 hits in the game. Molly Schwartz drove the middle of the lineup, leading Southridge with three runs batted in. She went 2-for-4 on the day. Keegan LaRoche went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Southridge in hits. Nalley and Marshall each collected multiple hits for Southridge. Forest Park Varsity Rangers will travel to Heritage Hills for their next game on Tuesday. |
