It was a good day at Brown County for the Cats! 10 girls had season and/or all time best times. 8 boys had a season and/or all time best times
The boys and girls varsity teams competed in the Elite Races against many of the top ranked teams in the state. The boys were led by Jaryn Weinel who finished 19th with a 5K time of 15:41. The boys finished 12th The girls were led by Ally Wigand who finished 9th with a 5K time of 18:48. It wa a great night for both teams. The girls finish 2nd out of 14 complete teams. They were led by Ally Wigand who was the individual champion with a winning time of 19:38. Monica Lorey also posted a top ten finish coming in 7th. The boys earned team champion honors in a field of 17complete teams. They were led by individual champion, Jaryn Weinel with a time of 15:59. Other top ten finishers for the Cats were: Harrison Huslman 3rd, Wylee Kippenbrock 8th, and Max Kline 10th.

The Jasper Wildcat Freshmen Football team defeated Evansville Memorial 22-0 at Jerry Brewer Alumni Stadium on Thursday. The Wildcats scored a touchdown in each of the first three quarters. Max Bueltel ( 34 yard run and 6 yard run) scored 2 touchdowns and Ross Dawkins (23 yard run) scored 1 touchdown. Elliot Smith scored on (2) 2 point conversions.
Max Bueltel led Jasper in passing with 3 completions for 36 yards. Elliot Smith ( 9 rushes for 63 yards),and Max Bueltel (7 rushes 60 yards) led the Wildcats i rushing. Ross Dawkins ( 1 reception for 12 yards) and Jerger (1 reception for 8 yards) each had a reception. The Jasper Defense was led in tackling by Wehr with 6 tackles and Smith with 5 tackles. Dawkins and Hanselman each had a sack in the game. The Wildcats (1-0) will be back in action August 25 when they play Southridge at Jerry Brewer Alumni Studium |
