Tuesday's game against Loogootee was a heartbreak for the Northeast Dubois Jeeps, as they lost the lead late in a 6-3 defeat. The game was tied at three with Loogootee batting in the top of the eighth when Breanna Courter singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
The Jeeps lost despite out-hitting Loogootee ten to six. In the top of the seventh inning, Loogootee tied things up at three when Kyleigh Courter drew a walk, scoring one run.
Allie Henninger was the winning pitcher for Loogootee. She went eight innings, allowing three runs on ten hits and striking out four. Hadley Fuhrman took the loss for the Jeeps. The righthander surrendered six runs on six hits over eight innings, striking out 14.
Northeast Dubois collected ten hits on the day. Maddie Burgan, Brooklyn Kiefer, Rhylan Kalb and Hadley Fuhrman all collected multiple hits for the Jeeps. Burgan led Northeast Dubois with three hits in four at bats.
The Jeeps (4-3) will be back on the diamond Thursday against Wood Memorial at 6:00.

The Northeast Dubois Jeeps defeated the Jasper Wildcats on Thursday nights at Dubois in dramatic fashion with a walk off home run in the seventh-inning by Hadley Fuhrman.
Jasper took the lead in the top of second on a triple by Olivia Young scoring one run. The Jeeps tied the score by scoring one run in the fifth and two runs in the sixth, the last 2 runs coming on a Emmerson Kalb double. Jasper had seven hits in the game led by the two hit performance of Olivia Young (triple and double). Kaitlyn Mendel Megan Mathias (double), Hillary Springer (double), and Kylie Morton each contributed to hit the Wildcats. The Jeeps had 11 hits on the game led by a three hit performance by Kelly Merkel (double and 2 singles). Grace Leuken and Emerson Kolb (double), had two hit for the Jeeps. . Hadley Furman (home run), Avery Bauer, Megan Burgan and Ava Helming each had 1 hit the Jeeps Hadley Furman picked up the win on the mound striking out five Wildcats in walking one. Kylie Morgan picked up the loss for Jasper, striking out 2 Jeeps . The Jeeps (2-1) will be an action again against North Knox next Tuesday. The Wildcats (3-2) will be in action on Saturday against Loogootee. |
