South Spencer couldn't keep up with Heritage Hills and fell 9-0 on Thursday.
A single by Briley Burns in the first inning was a positive for the Rebels. Mia Kiegel was credited with the victory for Heritage Hills. Kiegel surrendered zero runs on zero hits over two innings, striking out one and walking zero. Alexis Cecil took the loss for South Spencer. The righthander allowed 16 hits and nine runs over six innings, walking one. Miriam Gordon started the game for Heritage Hills. Gordon allowed six hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out four and walking zero. The Rebels tallied six hits in the game. Emma Williams and Burns each managed multiple hits for South Spencer. Heritage Hills saw the ball well today, racking up 16 hits in the game. Ali Gardner, Sarah Day, Gordon, Mayci Litherland, Jenna McDowell, and Emma Day all managed multiple hits for Heritage Hills. South Spencer (6-18) will play again next Tuesday at Tell City starting at 5:00. The Patriots (15-7) will take to the diamond again Friday against Hancock County at 5:30. |
Even though #1 ranked Forest Park gave up three runs in the sixth inning, they still defeated South Spencer 7-3 on Tuesday.
