Jasper defeated then Southridge Raiders Varsity 15-25, 8-25, 9-25 to win the battle of two Dubois County heavy weights in 3 sets at Southridge High School.
The Raiders were lead by Maddy Songer with 16 assists and 2 aces. Bailey Keusch had 9 kills for the Raiders. Karly Barnett had 8 digs and Claire Lanman had 7 digs. . Caitlyn Frick led he Raiders in blocks with 2 blocks. Jasper also won the junior varsity match 19-25-19, 25-28 and the freshmen match 25-13, 25-15. The Raiders defeated a PAC foe Tell City 25-22, 25-22, 26-24 with a strong offensive showing from Brenna Brosmer (14 kills) and Bailey Keusch (13 kills). with 34 assists from Maddy Songer. Defensively the Raiders saw blocking action from Caitlyn Frick, Emmy Petry and Bailey Keusch (2 each) and a team high 14 digs from Bailey Keusch. The JV team fell in straight sets 16-25, 16-25. The freshman team traveled to Barr-Reeve to play in a tri-match with the Barr Reeve Vikings and Vincennes Lincoln falling to both teams. The Southridge Raiders dropped a 3-1 match against the Gibson Southern Titans in PAC action on Tuesday.
"We played poorly to say the least. We missed 16 serves, said Head Coach Mande Keusch. "We gave up a whole lot of points. Too many unforced errors. Not great serve receive.
