The Boonville Pioneers stayed in it until the end, but Tell City pulled away late in a 4-3 victory on Thursday.  The game was tied at three with Tell City batting in the top of the eighth when Kori Embry singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.
   Rylie Schroeder took the win for Tell City. The pitcher lasted eight innings, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out 12.
   Tell City had nine hits in the game.  Kori Embry, Emme Hoesli, and Carli Hosler all managed multiple hits for Tell City.  Tell City didn't commit a single error in the field. 
The Marksmen (7-5) will be back in action at home against Perry County rival Perry Central (9-6) at 5:00.
