Washington struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Barr-Reeve, giving up 12 runs. In the first inning, the Vikings got their offense started when Jones singled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs. A single by Kiara Welsh in the first inning was a positive for the Hatchets. Grace Butcher led things off on the rubber for Barr-Reeve. She allowed three hits and zero runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out 11 and walking one. Welsh was in the circle for Washington. Welsh went four innings, allowing five runs on eight hits and striking out five. Katie Reed threw one inning out of the bullpen. Hayleigh Cummins, Welsh, and Ellycia Shartzer each collected one hit to lead Washington. The Vikings scattered ten hits in the game. Addison Jones, Butcher, Jones, and Natalie Stoll all collected multiple hits for Barr-Reeve Varsity Vikings. Jones went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Barr-Reeve Varsity Vikings in hits. The 2nd ranked Forest Park Rangers nabbed the lead late in the game in a 14-4 victory over the Washington Hatchets on Thursday. The game was tied at four with the Rangers batting in the bottom of the fourth when Clayton Weisheit homered on a 2-0 count, scoring two runs.
Weisheit led the Rangers to victory by driving in four runs. Weisheit went 3-for-3 at the plate. Weisheit drove in runs on a home run in the fourth and a single in the fifth. Forest Park got things moving in the first inning. An error scored three runs for the Rangers. Forest Park tallied six runs in the fifth inning. The offensive firepower by the Rangers was led by Weisheit and Joel Bueltel, who each had RBIs in the inning. Weisheit was on the pitcher's mound for Forest Park. The righty went two innings, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out six and walking one. Jarit Williams pitched for Washington. He went two innings, allowing four runs on two hits and striking out one. Brody Clark and Sean Watkins entered the game as relief, throwing two innings and one-third of an inning respectively. The Rangers launched one home run on the day. Weisheit put one out in the fourth inning. Forest Park collected nine hits.
