Heritage Hills lost the lead late in a 15-14 defeat to Jasper on Thursday. The game was tied at 14 with Jasper batting in the top of the seventh when Elise Lampert doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.
Miriam Gordon drove in five runners in the loss. Gordon drove in runs on a home run in the first and a home run in the fourth.
Jasper got things started in the first inning when Olivia Young singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.
The Patriots Varsity evened things up at 14 in the bottom of the sixth inning when Haley Fisher singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Jasper scored eight runs in the fifth inning. Ayla Elkins, Brooke Kleiser, Grace Kaeck, Lampert, Romey Werner, and Keira Giesler all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.
Lampert was the winning pitcher for Jasper. She lasted six and two-thirds innings, allowing nine hits and eight runs while striking out one.
Gordon took the loss for Heritage Hills. She surrendered 11 runs on five hits over one and two-thirds innings, striking out two.
Werner started the game for Jasper. She went one-third of an inning, allowing six runs on three hits. Mia Kiegel started the game for Heritage Hills . Kiegel surrendered four runs on seven hits over five and a third innings, striking out six.
The Patriots Varsity racked up 12 hits in the game. Mayci Litherland, Gordon, Fisher, and Sarah Day each had multiple hits for Heritage Hills. Day, Fisher, Gordon, and Litherland all had two hits to lead Heritage Hills.
Jasper racked up 12 hits on the day. Young, Lampert, Giesler, and Hillary Springer each collected multiple hits for Jasper. Young went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Jasper in hits.
Jasper (15-11) will play again in the against Gibson Southern in the Regional hosted at Jasper. Heritage Hills closes out the season at 19-9.

Heritage Hills notched four runs in the seventh inning. The Patriots batters contributing to the big inning included Sarah Day, Haley Fisher, and Gordon, all knocking in runs in the inning.
Gordon was the winning pitcher for Heritage Hills. She lasted three innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out three. Grace Keller threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Brooke Rasche took the loss for Forest Park. She went seven innings, allowing nine runs on 12 hits, striking out one and walking one.
Mia Kiegel started the game for the Patriots. She allowed two hits and three runs over three innings, striking out three
Heritage Hills tallied 12 hits in the game. Day, Mayci Litherland, Jenna McDowell, Emma Day, and Fisher each racked up multiple hits for the Patriots. Fisher, Day, McDowell, Litherland, and Day each managed two hits to lead Heritage Hills. The Patriots tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Litherland led the way with two.
Madison Lindauer led Forest Park with two hits in three at bats.
The Patriots (13-7) will play again Thursday at home against Spencer County rival South Spencer at 5:30. Forest Park (4-15) will play at Pike Central starting at 5:30.
Sarah Day drive in six Patriots on two hits to lead Heritage Hills past Perry Central 26-5 on Thursday. Day drove in runs on a double in the first and a home run in the second.

Heritage Hills hit two home runs on the day. Gordon went yard in the first inning. Day went deep in the second inning.
The Patriots collected 22 hits on the day. Ally Schipp, Litherland, Kiegel, Emma Day, Day, Gordon, Fisher, and Gardner each had multiple hits for Heritage Hills Patriots Varsity. Day, Kiegel, Litherland, and Schipp each collected three hits to lead Heritage Hills.
Elizabeth Harpenau led Perry Central with two hits in two at bats.
Heritage Hills (13-6) will be back in action Friday when they play Barr Reeve in Lincoln City at 5:00. Perry Central(9-8) will next play at North Harrison starting at 5:00.
Clayton Weisheit shut down Heritage Hills, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Forest Park to a 4-0 victory on Thursday
The Rangers got on the board in the first inning when Keegan Abell singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
A single by Colten Hopf in the second inning was a positive for Heritage Hills.
Weisheit earned the win for the Rangers. He allowed two hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out eight and walking zero.
Peyton Gray was on the mound for Heritage Hills. Gray lasted one and two-thirds innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out one. Braden Pruitt and Seth Deom entered the game as relief, throwing three innings and two and a third innings respectively.
Forest Park racked up seven hits on the day. Reid Howard and Weisheit all managed multiple hits for the Rangers. Weisheit and Howard each collected two hits to lead Forest Park Varsity Rangers.
The Rangers (15-1) play next at Crawford County at 5:00. Heritage Hills (8-8) will be back in action Saturday against Lanesville starting at 10:00.
